A product is a physical item which can be purchased when entering. For example bags of ice, dinner tickets or hoodies are common products. However, it can also be used for non physical items as well that are applied to the whole order rather than a specific rider such as a gate entry fee.
To create a product go to Event Details and select the Product catalogue button which is located under the blue save button.
The Product Catalogue has Product Families and each family can have multiple products. For example you might have Dinner Tickets as one product family which includes individual products of Adult Ticket and Child Ticket and Bags of Ice as a separate product family.
First create a Product Family by selecting Add Product Family. Give the Product Family a Code and a Name. You can also add a note to give more information about the product.
Operator affects how riders can purchase products. If your product is not displaying correctly on the online entry you may have selected the wrong operator.
The below example shows Ice as a Product Family. Note: AND has been used as an operator. There is only 1 product so there is no choice to be made and Or/Xor can't be used.
You can set a closing date for Product Families and for Products so that the product can no longer be purchased after this time.
Once the product family is created you can then select add product to create a product for that product family. Products also need a code and name and can have a note to provide more information about the product.
Purchase Quantity allows riders to buy multiple of the same product. For example a rider can buy 3x bags of ice. The same cost will be applied for each quantity purchased. If there is a discount for purchasing multiple products you can instead reflect this by creating multiple products instead. e.g 1 Bag, 2 Bags, 3 Bags and then set a cost on each product.
You can also add extensions to products by slecting the Extension button. Extensions allow you to add further questions to the product purchase. For example if a rider is purchasing dinner tickets you can ask them if they have any dietary requirements in an extension.
The below example shows Bags of Ice as a Product. Riders are able to purchase multiple bags of ice and each bag costs $5.
You can view products a rider has purchased either in the Entries Download where they take up their own sheet or on the Order Details (To get to Order Details either go to the rider's details and click Order Details or go to the Order and click the pencil icon). Products can also be edited on the Order Details page if a rider cancels their order. Remember to press Save after editing the Order Details.
The below example shows this rider had purchased 3 bags of ice but has now cancelled them.
