Competition Details
- In the competition details column fill out the details for the new competition
- Code - Codes are an abbreviation of the Competition Name. They need to be 6 characters or shorter and cannot contain spaces. The code needs to be unique and an identifier of that competition as it will appear on reports.
- Name - Try to keep competition names short where possible. The style of competition names should be consistent. Don't use Dr and then Showjumping for the next competition
- Note: Notes will appear on the online entry and can give more detail about the competition if required.
- Association - The association the Competition is running under. Pony Club, HRCAV, EA etc. Different competitions can be run under different associations for the one event.
- Disicpline - The discipline for this competition. All classes in a competition need to be from the same discipline.
- Discipline Name - If running a custom competition you can override the discipline name here.
- Active - Competitions that are active can be entered, scheduled and scored. A competition can be set to inactive if it is not being used for this event but might be used again next year. Otherwise the competition can be deleted instead.
- Requirement - Requirements for riders can be set on the competition level. For example at an International Horse Trials there may be an FEI competition using FEI requirement and an EA competitions using EA requirement. Note: Class requirements override competition requirements.
- Class Entry Strategy - Class entry strategy affects how riders are able to select classes at the event. See below for more details on each type.
- Auto Availability - Auto Availability affects what happens when the class cap is reached for classes in this competition. It can be set to automatically waitlist further entries or it can be set to automatically close the class and prevent any further entries.
- Start Day - If an event is run over multiple days you can nominate which day this competition starts. For a 1 day event you can leave this blank. Note: class start day overrides competition start day
- Number of Days - If a competition is run over multiple days it can be noted here. This is important for calculating facility fees and day participation. It does not actually impact scheduling the competition. For a 1 day event you can leave this blank. Note: class number of days overrides competition number of days

Class Entry Strategy
Class Entry Strategy affects how riders are able to enter classes. It is an important field and there are several options. Note: All Class Entry Strategies refer to entries for a single combination.
- Any Class - Riders can enter any number of classes. It should not be used if there is only 1 class available. This is often used for Shows and Clinics.
- Any 2 Classes - Riders can enter any 2 classes. This is often used for EA Dressage.
- Single Class - Riders can only enter 1 class. This is often used for Combined Training, Horse Trials and Supercross.
- Single Level - Riders can only enter 1 level. They cannot enter individual classes. This is often used for Pony Club Dressage and Showjumping.
- Two Classes Same Level - Riders can enter 1-2 classes at only 1 level. This is often used at Pony Club Dressage and Showjumping where a rider can enter an individual class or both classes but only at the one level.
- 2 Consecutive Classes - Riders can enter 1-2 classes that are next to each other. This allows a rider to enter 3.4 and 2.1 for example and is often used in EA Dressage
- 3 Consecutive Classes - Riders can enter 1-3 classes that are next to each other. This allows a rider to enter 3.4, 2.1 and 2.4 for example. This was common for EA Dressage but is no longer used now that EA has changed to only allow 2 tests per rider.
- 4 Consecutive Classes - Riders can enter 1-4 classes that are next to each other. This may be used at an HRCAV event.
- Jackpot plus 1 - Riders can enter both tests at 1 level and then 1 test at the level above. This is often used at HRCAV Dressage events.
- Jackpot plus 2 - Riders can enter both tests at 1 level and then 1-2 tests at the level above. This is often used at HRCAV Dressage.
Classes
All classes for the Competition are listed here.
- Classes can be copied by clicking the overlapping squares.
- Class order can be rearranged by selecting the up/down arrows. This will impact countback scoring as well as number sequencing!
- Each class has a code and a name to identify the class.
- The number of divisions for each class is noted here. Divisions should be used if there are too many riders in a class for 1 division. OTT, Pony and Open should be considered different classes!
- Classes can be set to inactive if they are not being used. If it is unlikely they will be used in the future you can delete them instead.
- Classes can be hidden if you don't want them to be visible on the online entry but still remain active.
Entry Pricing
Competitions cannot be entered directly. You must create at least one class and have riders enter that class. There are two Competitions Entry Pricing Fields though.
The first field is Competition Entry Discount. This allows you to apply a discount when a rider enters multiple classes in the one competition. For example you can set Conditional Pricing to give a discount if Class Count equals 2 to give riders a discount if they enter 2 classes. See Conditional Pricing How To. Also Note: Discounts should have a negative cost otherwise it will work as a surcharge.
The second field is Competition Entry Maximum. This field is not used very often. It allows you to set a maximum price riders can pay for a competition and is typically used for shows where you might have $5 per class with a maximum of $25 and there are 10 classes available so even if a rider selects all 10 classes they won't be charged more than $25.
