Before the XC begins you will receive a tablet and a 6 digit PIN which is unique to the event and your role as the XC Finisher. Use this PIN to log in.
This screen shows all of the XC classes for the event as well as the time they are scheduled to start and finish. Touch a class to begin the XC Finish for that class.
After touching a class it will then go to the XC Finish screen. This screen lists all the riders for the level in number order.
All riders for the level will include riders from multiple divisions but also riders from different classes that have the same level. Examples of this are Pony Club Grade 3 and Open Grade 3 or CCN 1* and Young Rider CCN1*.
This screen also shows the riders who are currently on course. If the class has not started yet the screen will look like this
Once the XC Starter begins starting riders they will then be highlighted yellow. In this example you can see that riders 400, 401 and 402 are currently on course.
Riders who have been scratched will appear with a strike through.
Riders with multiple horses will have an asterix (*) after the riders' name.
Riders who have been eliminated, or retired on course will still be highlighted as having started XC. If they "ride-on" after being eliminated and come through the finish you can still give them a finish time by selecting them from the class list on the left of your screen.
When a rider crosses the finish line you touch the stop button.
See the image below - activating the stop button will then display the current time, in this instance 2:54:06
You can then touch a rider from the list of riders to assign that stop time to that rider or enter in the number of the rider in the red box.
In this example a rider has crossed the finish line at 2:54:06. That rider was then identified by you as being rider 400 so you select rider 400 from the list of riders "on course" above. The rider's name will now be displayed beneath their time.
To save the finish time of 2:54:06 for rider 400 you then press the save button. You cannot navigate away from this rider until you either save the time or remove the time.
If the rider that crossed the finish is not in the list of "on course" riders this may be because they were unaware that they had been eliminated at a fence and continued to "ride on". To assign the stop time to a rider not listed in the "on course" list you can select them from the class list on the left of your screen.
If you need to remove a stop time that is not going to be assigned to a rider you can select the rubbish bin symbol to remove the stop time.
You can touch the speech bubble icon to include a comment. Comments can include both diagrams and text.
You can eliminate a rider at the finish line by touching EL and then selecting the appropriate reason.
To add Time Wasting to a rider's time touch the TW icon.
Multiple riders may finish very close together. In this case you can touch the stop button multiple times in quick succession and then assign each stop time to each rider that has crossed the finish line by touching the stop time and then touching that rider's number. The arrow will show you which stop time is currently selected. You can also edit the time for a rider by touching the pencil icon.
You can then save all 3 stop times at once by selecting the save icon.
When a rider is on course their name on the class list will have a yellow highlight. When a rider's stop time has been saved their name on the class list will be highlighted green and their stop time will also be noted. (If you realise there is an error you can select that rider to return their stop time to the on course section and then edit the time using the pencil icon.) This should give you a sense of how the class is progressing. Just because there are no riders on course does not mean that the level is necessarily finished. You should wait to hear confirmation from the XC coordinator.
If you have completed all riders for this level/grade you can return to the menu by clicking on the "Classes" button. You will then return to the page below and will be able to select the next level/grade.
