Before the Style phase begins you will receive a tablet and a 6 digit PIN which is unique to the event and your role as a 3PE Judge and penciller. Use this PIN to log in. If you need to swap to a different device you can log back in using your PIN.
When you first log in it is possible that no course plans will have been set up yet and the screen will look like this.
To set up a course plan touch the course plans button.
If the Course Designer has already set up the course plans then you can begin the Style Phase by touching any class name.
This screen shows the current course plans. You can set up a course plan for each level. To create or edit a course plan touch the pencil icon. The time on course can be set to different values for each division on this screen by touching the time on course.
There are 3 steps to setting up a course plan
1. Give the plan a name. It is best to keep it simple and often the level name will suffice.
2. How many obstacles are in the course. Start/Finish and successive elements are not obstacles and are added in step 3.
3. You should name each effort. This will make it easier to remember which effort is which
Once you have completed the 3 set up steps you can then touch save to save your course plan and then return to either the plans screen or classes screen.
If multiple levels are using the same course plan you can use copy plans to copy the same plan to the other levels. Do not copy the plan to other classes at the same level! For example do not copy Official Level 4 Plan to the Unofficial Level 4 class. This will create a seprate plan for that class and then the judge will have to judge the classes separately which is not ideal.
Once all of the course plans have been created don't forget to set the time on course for each level.
Once you have set up the course plan you can then select a class from the class screen.
This will then show a list of riders in that class. On the right hand side you can see the status of each rider. When a rider arrives in the ring you can then select that rider.
Once you have selected the rider it will then show you a screen which looks similar to a Dressage test.
Make sure to check that you have selected the correct rider and horse. If you have made a mistake scroll to the bottom of the page and return to the draw. If you have completed part or all of the test and then realise you have the wrong rider just complete the test and then contact the scoreroom and they will correct it for you.
When a rider approaches an obstacle. Select the obstacle. Typing letters will add words to the comment field. Typing numbers will add a score to the obstacle. Alternatively you can touch the number on the screen. Note: This means you can't use numbers in the comment box. You will need to type four feet and not 4 feet.
If you want to add a half mark hold shift while typing a number.
If you want to give a rider a mark of 10 you need to select the 10 on the screen. You can't type 10 as that would give them a score of 1 and then change it to a score of 0.
To move to the next obstacle press tab or touch the screen on the next obstacle (You need to tap where the name of the obstacle is). Note: Shift-Tab will take you back to the previous obstacle.
To add an error of course select the + icon next to EOC. To remove an error of course select the - icon next to EOC.
To retire a rider touching the RT mark next to the 10 mark.
At the bottom of the test is an E button for Elimination. Touching the Elimination button will display a list of reasons why the rider was eliminated. You can press the question mark to expand the reason to get the exact rule from the rulebook if required.
Once the test is completed you can press Sign Off to mark that rider is completed. If something has happened and you are not ready to Sign Off the test but want to move on to the next rider you can press Hold.
Once the whole class is completed you can press the blue Sign Off class button. This will finalise the results. After this point no more changes can be made. If you wish to make further changes you will need to contact the scoreroom.
